Brinkburn is situated in a secluded wooded ravine on the banks of the River Coquet in Northumberland. It offers one of the most exquisite backdrops for you to escape and focus on your Pilates practice and well being. The Augustinian Friars chose this site in the 12th Century to establish a priory as they were taken by the beauty and peace of the surroundings. Whatever your beliefs or non beliefs you can't help but be transported from the hustle and bustle of life to the stillness of this place.  

 

 A Unique Pilates Experience - Designed For You

What makes this retreat unique is that it will be purposely designed for you. With over 20 years experience within the health and fitness industry, Adrian will assess your movement and Pilates practice and use his skills to direct the experience to your needs. You will improve your Pilates practice, learn skills to improve your movement and develop a greater appreciation of mindfullness. 

 

During these quality 3 days you will have an opportunity to experience mat, reformer and wunda chair classes and gain a greater understanding of the classical pilates method and how the apparatus and mat practice serve each other. There will be an opportunity to develop your breathwork and if its for you experience the stillness of cold water immersion. The grounds, woodlands and riverside setting also offer an opportunity to just be at peace and a guided walk will be included. 

 

 

 

 

 

The studio space is set in a refurbished barn which offers an amazing place to teach and be taught. the accommodation is luxurious and yet homely as it is set in some beautiful stone built cottages. We believe that food is essential for a happy and healthy life. On this retreat the food will be very special. Your meals will be freshly prepared by Fig Leaf PLant Based Life who source ingredients locally where possible and provide the most delicious and healthy plant based meals. 

 

What will make this 'designed for you' retreat so effective will be the online consultation prior to the retreat and the follow up class that will be offered on your return. These are our 'give aways' to you to make sure you get the most from your time away. All within the price!

 

Although the timetable is full, the time is yours to take as much as you want or need. If you feel the peace and tranquilty of the beautiful surroundings draws you in, then you can opt for the space and time to recharge and reset.

 8.00am Active Isolated Strength and Stretch Class 

 9.00am Breakfast

10.30am Reformer/Wunda Chair Classes

12.30pm Lunch

 2.00pm  onwards: Breathwork & Cold Water Immersion

                                  Guided Walk

                                  Movement Correction Clinic

                                  Free Time

 5.00pm Classical Pilates Mat Class

 7.00pm Evening meal

There will be a limited opportunity to book a private Pilates or Muscle Activation Techniques Session throughout the the

Adrian's Bio

 

 

 

 

 

Adrian is a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor with over 20 years experience in the industry. He has trained in both contemporary and classical styles of Pilates and is certified with National Pilates Certification Programme (NPCP). He is perfectly placed to assist you with all your Pilates needs. 

 

In addition to his extensive Pilates training he is qualified in other health and fitness disciplines. He trained as a Personal Trainer and Health and Fitness Specialist with the American College of Sports Medicine and has developed his natural movement exercise skills with the world renowned MovNat movement. 

Always keen to learn more and provide answers for his clients, Adrian qualifed as a Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) Specialist Practioner. He combines this technique with his Pilates practice to help his clients activate muscles that are under-performing or even switched off. 

Adrian has a wealth of knowledge in Pilates and other health and fitness disciplines, which he is so keen to share with others. Perhaps more important than his knowledge and experience is his desire to keep learning and ensure that this learning is evidence based. He will work tirelessly throughout the 3 days to help you develop and enjoy your Pilates practice.
